Meet Your Guide

My name is Elizabeth Maresca, otherwise known as LagoonLady ‘Liz.’

As a native Floridian, I have been fishing since I was about four years old. While fishing for Lil’ chubs with a line on our backyard dock, I fell into the New River canal. My brother promptly ran to get my Mom rather than fishing me out. But by the time they returned, I had pulled myself out and started fishing again. I believe this was when my passion for fishing began. My love for angling has taken me from our dock in beautiful Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to the Carolinas, New Jersey, Maine, Hawaii, and Costa Rica.

In 2013, my husband and I returned to Vero Beach after living in Hawaii for a few years. We began to fish the Indian River Lagoon in a borrowed canoe. Then we purchased a couple of used paddle kayaks, and as they say, the rest is history.

Once you set yourself down in the kayak on the water, everything changes. Freedom awaits. Kayak fishing is the best way to get up close and personal with the Lagoon and all it has to offer. It’s a rare sensation when you settle into your kayak. It’s just you, the water, the sky, and all the wildlife around you.

Our kayaks are the new 2020 Hobie Outback with Mirage 180 pedal drive. The Hobie Outback deck is 34″ across, making it a stable platform for standing, casting, sight-fishing, yoga, or qigong! The new Outback features the spacious Vantage CTW Seat, which is unmatched for comfort.

So come along with me, LagoonLady Liz, for a new and exciting kayak fishing experience.
